IN THE WORLD!

Kinja'd!!!

Hahahaha

I’m sorry, but no. No they’re not.

I won’t even go into the myriad of reasons why that’s such an utterly ridiculous statement.

Simply put: No coilover that is sold for $800, and retails new for $1,400, is the “best coilovers out there.”

Why not? We’re all interested in the myriad of reasons.

When I think of high-end suspension, the first name that comes to mind is definitely “Broadway Static.”

From their Facebook page:

We utilize Fortune Auto coilovers and add our carefully selected specs to provide a ride that is unrivaled at ANY height. Our coilovers are made to ride excellently with paper tight ground clearance and grip any corner on the track. Cutting edge style and precise performance all in one package.

What does that even mean? So they’re just “hand-assembled” Fortune Auto coilovers?

Or did they mean to say they add carefully-selected springs, perches, etc to the Fortune Auto shock body? I’m very confused.

I suppose it’s not quite a myriad of reasons but rather two major ones, which are valving and quality. Fortune Autos, like most “entry level” coilover brands, come from one of a handful of factories in SE Asian (I believe Taiwan in FA’s case). They are all very similar products, that tend to not have great valving. I’ll admit that I believe FA is better than many of the cheaper brands out there, and I know that some people have built some decent suspension setups for time attack cars using their stuff.

This company Broadway Static takes those Fortune Auto coilovers and adds ridiculously stiff springs for that #helladope #stancenation style.

I’m not necessarily saying that Fortune Autos bad, but just certainly not the best. Particularly when you compare them to offerings from Penske, JRZ, Moton, etc.

Of course “best” is a subjective term. In all likelihood they could be the “best” for someone who is just looking to slam a street car on a major budget for that dope #madtytejdmstancenation look. I just felt like being nit-picky with the blanket term the seller decided to use. :)

All FA’s are made in Taiwan (I believe that’s the right SE Asian country) and then assembled in the good ol’ U S of A! #marketing

Very convincing text, I think I’ll buy them right away. Especially considering they’re built to ‘your’ specs and not mine....

Oh god, I went to their website. The design is sooooo bad. You can hardly read the dark brown hyperlinks on the black background.

Yep, that’s why my quote was from Facebook. I tried to go to the site but it wouldn’t load any images (though that might not be their fault, who knows).

I know the site, and I know the subforum. Classifieds that come out of NJ seem to be the best reads. “Used X wheels, curb rash on all 4, asking $100 more than new. Local pickup only.” Followed by 8 months of “bump” on a regular basis.
